Fred Hollows was one of the worlds best opthatmologists [eye doctor]. He was born in New Zealand in 1929, he wanted to become a missionary because his family was religious. But he changed when he did some work at a mental hospital. He wanted to become a eye doctor after he left the mental hospital, he got a job at the eye department in Sydney Hospital.
